1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
16-oz. pkg. dry lentils
1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
1 c. shredded carrots
8 c. water
2 14.5-oz. cans chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes w/juice
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. parsley
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. dried basil
salt and pepper to taste
Brown sausage and place in crockpot w/sausage drippings. Add all
other ingredients and cook on low heat for 6 hours. Stir
