5 1/2 cups flour 1 pkg. or 3 tsp. yeast 1 c. warm water 1 c. warm milk 1/3 c. sugar 5 Tbsp. shortening 1 tsp. salt Sift flour in bowl. Mix yeast in warm water. Combine with warm milk and add sugar. Put shortening and salt in flour. Pour in liquid; mix well. Let rise until double in bulk. Knead well on floured surface. Roll and cut or pinch off balls the size of a walnut or as big as you like.
