2 1/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. butter, softened 1/4 c. granulated sugar 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 pkg. (4 serving size) instant vanilla pudding mix 2 eggs 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips 1 c. chopped nuts (opt.) Mix flour with baking soda. In a separate bowl, combine butter, sugars, vanilla, and pudding mix. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts; batter will be stiff. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen.
