PERSIMMON COOKIES

1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. persimmon pulp
2 c. flour (sifted)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. orange gumdrops, diced
1/2 c. chopped golden raisins
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter and sugar; stir in egg and
persimmon pulp. Combine dry ingredients and stir into wet mixture.
Add gumdrops, raisins, and walnuts. mix well. Drop by tablespoon
onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen
cookies
