4 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. butter or margarine 1 c. cooking oil 1 c. sugar 1 c. sifted 10X sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped pecans Sift flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar; set aside. Cream margarine, oil, sugar, and 10X sugar until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla gradually. Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture, mixing well. Add nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet about 3" apart. Flatten each with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Remove to a rack and cool.
