PEANUT BUTTER CRISSCROSS COOKIES

1 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 c. peanut butter (crunchy is best)
3 c. plain flour
1/8 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda

Thoroughly cream shortening, vanilla, and sugars. Add eggs and
beat. Stir in peanut butter, then sifted ingredients (flour, salt,
and soda). Form into tiny balls. Place on greased cookie sheet.
Press with back of fork to make crisscross. Bake at 375 for 10
minutes. Yield: 50-60 cookies. Make extra and freeze.
