CHEESE APPLES

3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sharp cheese, shredded
7 medium apples, peeled and sliced
6 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. lemon or orange juice

Preheat oven to 350. Grease 8" square pan. In a large bowl combine
sugar, salt, and flour. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form.
Mix in cheese and set aside. In another large bowl, combine
apples, water, and lemon juice. Toss lightly. Spoon into prepared
dish. Sprinkle cheese mixture over apples and pat down gently.
Bake 40 minutes until light brown.
