1 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 9" baked pie shell
4 Tbsp. sugar
Mix sugar, cocoa, salt, and cornstarch until smooth. Add egg yolks
and stir. Add milk; stir. Cook in top of double boiler or thick
pan until thickened. Take off heat and add butter and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell. Beat egg whites until peaks form. Mix
in 4 Tbsp. sugar and mix well. Pour over pie and bake at 350 until
meringue is golden brown.
