2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 c. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
3 c. milk
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. thyme leaves, crumbled
1 can crushed tomatoes in puree
salt and pepper to taste
Melt butter on low heat. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally,
until translucent, about 3 minutes. Blend in flour and cook,
stirring, for 2 minutes longer. Add milk and stir constantly. Add
thyme and sugar. Bring to simmer. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add tomatoes. Simmer until heated through.
