4 c. water 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. garlic powder or more 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 c. quick cooking grits 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine 1 1/2 c. grated process cheese, divided 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. milk Preheat oven at 350 degrees. In large saucepan, bring the water to boil. Add garlic powder, salt and pepper. Gradually stir in grits. Lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat; stir in butter or margarine and cheese until melted. Mix eggs and milk; stir into grits. Pour grits into a greased 2-quart casserole; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
