1/2 lb. crystallized cherries, cut in halves 1/2 lb. crystallized fruit 1/2 lb. crystallized pineapple, cut up well 1 lb. white raisins 1 c. cooking sherry 1/2 lb. walnuts, cut up 1/2 lb. pecans, cut up 1/2 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. buttermilk 3 c. plain flour 1 tsp. cloves 2 tsp. cinnamon 3 eggs 1 c. sugar 2/3 c. melted butter 1 tsp. soda 1 Tbsp. vanilla Soak crystallized fruit overnight in cooking sherry (24 hours soaking makes them better). Sift together flour, cloves and cinnamon. Beat eggs; add sugar and melted butter. Dissolve soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Add fruit and nuts. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Drop cookie mixture by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. Makes about 100 cookies.
