CLAM CHOWDER

1/4 pound chopped bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 medium onions, chopped
3 tablespoons green pepper, chopped
3 cups water
3 medium diced potatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cans clams, drained and chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter

Cook bacon in pan, retaining drippings. Saute green pepper and
onions in drippings until tender. Add water and potatoes and cook
until potatoes are just tender. Add clams. When ready to serve,
add flour, milk and butter. Heat until warmed and thickened.

Yield: 4-6 servings.
