1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 pkg. ranch dressing mix
1-28 oz. can crushed tomatoes (in tomato puree)
1-15 oz. can diced tomatoes
1-15 oz. can diced tomatoes and green chilies
4-15/16 oz. cans of beans, variety of types
1/2 cup salsa
water, as desired
Brown ground beef and onions in Dutch oven. Add remaining
ingredients, draining beans (do not drain chili beans). Simmer for
30 minutes. Sprinkle corn chips, shredded cheese or sour cream on
top as desired.
Notes: Some suggestions for bean choices are black beans, red beans,
chili beans, northern beans or lima beans. Can also substitute
corn, hominy or black-eyed peas.
