FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE

One bake 9" or 10" pastry shell
1 c. whole strawberries
2 c. crushed berries
1 1/3 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice

Prepare pie shell; cool it. Select one cup pretty, large berries
and set aside. Place 2 cups crushed berries in a saucepan.
Combine sugar, salt, and cornstarch; stir into crushed berries.
Cook and stir over medium heat until somewhat clear, about 10
minutes. Remove from heat; add lemon juice. Cool. Pace pretty
berries on bottom of cooled pastry shell, When crushed berries are
cool, pour them over whole berries in pie shell. Chill in
refrigerator 4 hours or more. May serve top with whipped cream.
