1 1/2 c. sugar (divided use)
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 Tbsp. oil
2 29 oz. cans sliced peaches
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Stir together 1/2 c. sugar, flour, baking powder, milk, and oil in
order listed. Pour batter into ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Drain 1 can of peaches. Mix drained and undrained peaches, butter,
and 1 c. sugar in large sauce pan. Bring to boil and cook until
sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add almond extract and lemon
juice. Pour immediately over batter. Bake at 375 degrees for 45
