4 quarts sliced cucumbers 1/2 cup salt 3 cups sugar 3 cups vinegar 1 Tbsp. turmeric 3 Tbsp. celery seed 2 Tbsp. mustard seed Slice cucumbers and salt. Cover with ice and let stand 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Drain off water. Combine sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed, pour over cucumbers. Bring to boil. When they turn brown, place in sterilized jars.
