1/4 cup oil 1 medium onion, sliced 1 1/2 cups coarse burghul wheat 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce Salt and pepper to taste 4 to 5 cups water Rinse burghul well and drain. Sauté onion in oil. Add wheat, tomato sauce, water, salt and pepper. Cook for 25 minutes over medium heat. Variations: When adding wheat, include one medium diced potato and/or add 1 small can peas a few minutes before removing from heat.
