2 lbs. green beans
1 can chick peas
1 large onion, diced
1/4 cup oil
1 can whole tomatoes
1 small can tomato sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup water
String, cut and wash green beans. In a large saucepan, sauté the
onion in oil. Add green beans and steam for 10 minutes over low
heat, stirring occasionally. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water,
salt and pepper, Cover and allow to boil. Reduce heat to low and
cook for 1 hour until done. Add chick peas 10 minutes before
removing from heat.
Diced potatoes may be substituted for chick peas.
