1 16 oz. can stewed tomatoes 1 16 oz. can cut green beans (not French cut) 1 cup coarse burghul wheat, rinsed and drained 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1/2 cup olive oil 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper Pinch of cinnamon and allspice Pour beans and tomatoes into a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir in wheat, salt, pepperand seasonings. Reduce to simmer and gently cook covered for 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Do not stir while it is cooking. Sauté the onion in oil until transparent, not brown. Pour the onions and oil over the wheat and beans and stir. Remarks: A good Lenten dish.
