SHREDDED WHEAT

(Knafee)


Filling:
2 cups walnuts, chopped
1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. orange blossom water

Mix ingredients together. Set aside.

Syrup:
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp. orange blossom water
Few drops of lemon juice

Combine sugar and water in sauce pan and cook over low heat for
approximately 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from
heat, then add lemon juice and orange blossom water. Cool.

Filling the Biscuits:
1 box shredded wheat (12 large)
2 cup milk
3 tsp. rendered butter

Heat milk and butter together. Do not boil. Quickly dip the
shredded wheat biscuit in the hot milk. In one end of biscuit,
make an opening. Fill with nut mixture using a teaspoon. Place
the biscuits in buttered baking pan. Bake in 300 degrees F oven for 20 to
30 minutes or until slightly browned. Pour cooled syrup over hot
knafee.
