Dough: 1 cup rendered butter 1 1/4 cups sugar 5 tsp. baking powder 2 eggs, unbeaten 6 drops anise extract 1 cup milk 6 cups flour In large bowl, blend by hand, the butter and sugar. Add baking powder, eggs and anise extract. Alternately add milk and flour. Mix and then knead well. Pinch off a piece of dough, the size of a walnut and roll between palms of hands until 4 inches in length. Bring ends together to form a circle. Dip the top of the cookie into sesame topping and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Place tray in center of oven. Bake at 350 degrees F until lightly browned, approximately 15 - 20 minutes. Topping: 1 egg, well beaten 1 drop anise extract 1/2 cup sesame seeds Mix together by hand. Dip cookie in mixture as directed.
