Cookie Dough: 6 cups flour 2 cups sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 egg Whiskey 2 cups butter, softened 1 1/2 lbs. sesame seeds Brown sesame seed under broiler until golden. Watch carefully. Cool and set aside. Mix flour, sugar and baking powder together and then mix in the butter. Break egg into measuring cup and fill with whiskey to make one cup. Add to dry ingredients. Dough should be workable. Roll pieces of dough into balls the size of walnuts. Flatten each ball very thin and brush lightly with syrup. Press top of cookie into sesame seed and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees F. Syrup: 1 cup water 3 cups sugar Juice of 1/2 a lemon 2 or 3 drops orange blossom water Bring water to a boil. Add sugar and cook 5-10 minutes or until syrup is slightly thickened. Add lemon juice.
