1 lb. Farina
1 cup rendered butter, melted
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
1 small decorative mold (found at Middle East stores)
Pour warm butter over farina. Mix well. Sift baking powder
and flour together. Alternately add flour mix with milk which has
been warmed to farina. Knead and let stand for 3 to 4 hours. Pull
off a small ball of dough and place in palm of left hand. Place 1
1/2 teaspoons of filling into center of the dough. If dough is too
sticky to work, dab finger into water and fold dough over filling.
Shape into a ball. Place the ball into the decorative mold and
press together. Open mold and drop nut pastry onto a large baking
sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes till golden. When cool,
sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
2 cups walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. orange blossom water
Mix all ingredients together.
