Farina Mixture: 3 cups farina or instant cream of wheat 1 cup rendered butter, melted 1 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups milk 1 tsp. baking powder Tahini (sesame seed paste) Almond halves Mix farina, butter and sugar with enough milk to hold together. Let soak for 1/2 hour. Add baking powder and mix well. Coat a 9" x 13" pan with tahini. Pour mixture into pan and spread evenly. Garnish with almonds. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees F. Remove from oven and cut into squares. Pour cooled syrup over hot Harist il Louz. Syrup: 2 cups sugar 1 cup water Juice of half a lemon 1 tsp. orange blossom water Boil sugar and water about 10 minutes. Add lemon and orange blossom water. Let cool and use as directed.
