Add eggs, brandy and mahleb. Gradually add the flour and mix until dough is smooth. Form the dough into a round patty 2 inches by 1/4 inch thick. Place 1 teaspoon of filling in middle of each patty, overlap and close open edges by crimping and form into a half-moon shape. Place cookies on baking sheet, Bake at 300 degreesF for 25 to 30 minutes until light brown, While still hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar or dip in cold syrup. Filling: 1 lb. walnuts, groundwater 1/2 cup sugar 2 Tbsp. orange blossom r Mix filling ingredients together and set aside. Syrup: 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup water 1/2 tsp. lemon juice 1/2 tsp. orange blossom water Dissolve sugar in water and boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add lemon juice and orange blossom water.
