1 Can Almonds (slivered blanched)(1 1/2C) 3/4C Sugar 3 Egg Whites 1/4C Maraschino Cherries (chopped/drained) Red Food Coloring Mix nuts, sugar and egg whites in saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly for 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in cherries and a few drops of food coloring (if desired). Drop by level tablespoons on two greased and lightly floured baking sheets (or use Pam). Let stand at room temperature until cool. Heat oven to 300 degrees. Bake about 20 minutes or until delicately golden on exterior but soft and moist inside. Remove from sheets immediately.
