2 eggs 2/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. anise seed 1 c. flour Grease and flour a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly. Add anise seed. Mix in flour. Bake in prepared pan about 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean (pan will be only 1/4 full). Remove from pan and cut loaf into sixteen 1/2-inch thick slices. Place slices on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes or until bottoms of slices are browned. Turn and bake 5 minutes more until slices are browned. Makes 16 slices.
