1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar grated rind of 1 lemon 2 eggs 1/2 c. milk 1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt Lemon Glaze: 1/4 c. sugar juice of 1 lemon Cream shortening and sugar. Add lemon rind, eggs and milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Place in well-greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Lemon Glaze: Stir until sugar is well mixed with lemon juice. Spoon over hot bread.
