EASTER BREAD

(Bread Machine)

1/8 c. water
2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
3 1/2 eggs, slightly beaten (3/4 c.)
2 1/4 c. plus 2 tsp. bread flour
1/2 c. plus 2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. anise seed
1 1/2 tsp. yeast (I used Red Star QuickRise)

Place all ingredients in the bread machine in the order
listed. In bread machine, use the following settings: Dough:
sweet; Crust: light and Bake Cycle: regular. I have also used the
dough cycle and baked the bread in the oven. Place all ingredients
in bread machine and use the following settings: Dough: sweet;
Crust: light and Bake Cycle: dough. When the cycle is complete,
put the dough in a greased bread pan and allow to rise (doubled)
about 1 1/2 hours. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Makes 1 loaf.

Original recipe cut down to make 1 loaf.
