2 c. shortening 2 1/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 eggs 1/4 c. milk 6 c. flour 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt Icing: 3 Tbsp. Crisco 6 c. powdered sugar (3 c. = 1 lb. box) 3 tsp. vanilla Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Add dry ingredients. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour. On lightly floured surface, roll to 1/8-inch thick. Cut in desired shapes with cutters. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly. Remove from pan. Cool on rack. Decorate. Makes 6 dozen. I roll out a little thicker.
