2 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
6 c. flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. Crisco
6 c. powdered sugar (3 c. = 1 lb. box)
3 tsp. vanilla
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add egg. Beat
until light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Add dry ingredients. Divide
dough in half. Chill 1 hour. On lightly floured surface, roll to
1/8-inch thick. Cut in desired shapes with cutters. Place on
greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool
slightly. Remove from pan. Cool on rack. Decorate. Makes 6 dozen.
I roll out a little thicker.
