2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. sour milk 1/2 c. cocoa with enough hot water to make 1 c. 4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder dash of salt Custard: 1 c. milk 5 Tbsp. flour 1 c. Crisco 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 Tbsp. vanilla Combine sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs, sour milk, cocoa, flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Drop by spoonfuls on baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Custard: Combine milk, flour and vanilla. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until pasty. Cool, then add Crisco and powdered sugar and beat well.
