APPLE NUT RING

2 (7.5 oz.) pkg. refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
2 medium Granny Smith apples
1/3 c. nuts, grated (walnuts, pecans or whatever you like)

In a medium bowl, melt butter. Microwave on High for 30 to 45
seconds or until melted. Combine sugars and cinnamon. Dip
biscuits in butter. Roll in sugar mixture. Arrange biscuits in an
overlapping circular pattern in a round 10-inch pan. Peel, core
and slice apples. Place an apple slice between each biscuit and
around outer edge of pan. Grate or finely chop nuts and sprinkle
over top. You may also mix nuts with any remaining sugar mixture,
then sprinkle on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until
biscuits are deep golden brown. Serve warm. Serves 10.
