2/3 c. sugar 1/3 c. butter 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 1/2 c. water 4 c. quarter apples, peeled and cored Bring these ingredients to a boil and set aside to cool. Pastry (Done In A Jelly Roll Style): 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2/3 c. milk 1/2 c. shortening Mix together and roll out rectangular style (about 18 x 12-inch). Place mixture on dough and roll like a jelly roll. Cut into 1 1/2-inch thick slices and place in a baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream on top.
