2 egg whites
1 c. sugar
dash of salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/3 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. white Karo
Combine sugar, egg whites, salt and water in top of double
boiler. Beat with electric mixer about 1 minute. Cook over rapidly
boiling water, beating constantly with mixer on high speed for 7
minutes or until frosting stands in peaks. Stir from bottom
occasionally. Remove from boiling water. Add vanilla, Karo and
cream of tartar and beat 1 minute or until thick enough to spread.
