3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. sour cream Into a bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes. Add sour cream and half of the dry ingredients. Beat 1 minute. Stir in remaining ingredients with spoon (wooden). Roll dough onto lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thick. Cut with floured cookie cutters. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. (Check earlier to make sure they do not burn.) Cool and frost. Makes about 6 dozen soft sugar cookies.
