STEAMED CABBAGE

1/2 lb. salt pork, cut into strips
1 medium cabbage, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
sugar to taste

Fry salt pork until crispy; remove from pan. Combine
cabbage, salt, sugar and pepper in drippings. Simmer, covered, on
low heat, stirring frequently, until cabbage is tender. Yields 6
servings.
