1 large can Angel Flake coconut (fresh or frozen)
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 box devil's food cake mix
1 stick butter or margarine
8 oz. cream cheese
1 lb. box powdered sugar
Mix coconut and pecans together in a 9 x 12-inch pan. Mix
and make cake mix according to directions. Pour over the first
Melt in pan butter or margarine. Pour melted butter into
cream cheese and powdered sugar. Pour sugar, cream cheese and
butter mixture over cake mix batter on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 or 45 minutes. After cake stands it will
darken in color. May substitute other cake mixes (example:
yellow cake mix).
