1 c. shortening 2 1/2 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 tsp. baking powder 2 1/2 c. plain flour 1/2 c. self-rising flour 1 c. milk 1 Tbsp. pure butternut flavoring or 3 Tbsp. imitation vanilla butternut and 1 tsp. butter flavoring Cream shortening, sugar and eggs for one minute at high speed. Sift flours and baking powder together. Add 1/2 of flour mix to creamed mixture. Beat one minute. Add milk and remaining flour. Add flavorings and mix well after each. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Icing: 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 box powdered sugar 1 Tbsp. butternut flavoring milk Pour over warm cake to glaze.
