2 boxes fresh strawberries 1 c. sugar 1 Tbsp. butter 1 baked pie shell 1/3 c. water 3 Tbsp. cornstarch red food coloring Wash, top and slice strawberries. Add sugar and let stand a couple of hours or until you get 2 cups strawberry juice (or add water to make 2 cups). Put juice in saucepan with 2 1/2 tablespoons of cornstarch (3 tablespoons tapioca). Let stand in juice 5 minutes and then cook. Add a dash of salt. Cook until thickened. Remove from stove and add a little red food coloring and 1 teaspoon butter. Add sweetened strawberries to glaze and cool. Then pour this glaze over the creamed mixture and garnish with whole berries, if you wish.
