2 sticks real butter, softened 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. sugar 5 eggs 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond extract (optional) Have all ingredients at room temperature. Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Mix milk with flavoring. Beginning and ending with dry ingredients, alternate adding them and milk to the creamed mixture. Mix well but do not overbeat. Put in well-greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Leave in pan for 30 minutes to cool.
