6 eggs 2 c. sugar 2 sticks margarine 3 1/2 c. self-rising flour 1 1/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla Cream margarine and sugar; add eggs. Add flour and water, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla last. Bake in very thin layers at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. (Do not brown or dry out, just cook until cake springs back to touch.) Frosting: 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate 3 c. sugar 1 stick margarine 1 can evaporated milk Cook in top of double boiler until thick and creamy. Spread (while hot) on layers.
