6 c. water (divided) 1 3/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. dried or 1/3 c. fresh lavender flowers 1 tsp. grated lime zest 1 c. fresh-squeezed lime juice (about 8 limes) lime slices (optional) In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of the water, lavender, and lime zest. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to low heat and simmer until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let syrup stand for 10 minutes. Strain and discard lavender. In a large pitcher, stir in remaining water, syrup, and lime juice. Serve over ice, with lime slices if desired.
