6 c. water (divided)
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. dried or 1/3 c. fresh lavender flowers
1 tsp. grated lime zest
1 c. fresh-squeezed lime juice (about 8 limes)
lime slices (optional)
In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of the water, lavender, and lime zest.
Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to low heat and simmer
until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let syrup stand for 10
minutes. Strain and discard lavender.
In a large pitcher, stir in remaining water, syrup, and lime juice.
Serve over ice, with lime slices if desired.
