PICKLED BEETS

1/2 c. water
1/2 c. vinegar
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. sliced red beets, cooked
4 hard-boiled peeled eggs

Combine first 6 ingredients and pour over beets and eggs. Let stand
6 hours in refrigerator.
