BANANA NUT BREAD

(from "Alaska's Cooking" 1960 edition)

1/2 c. butter or other shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. mashed very ripe banana
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. nuts, chopped

Mix ingredients in given order. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour in a loaf
pan.

(You can add more sugar if you like the bread sweeter.)
