4 oranges, peeled and sliced 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. dry white wine or water 1 1/2 tsp. anise 1 tsp. fresh lime juice 1/2 tsp. lime zest Remove the white from oranges. When peeling, place slices in bowl. In saucepan, add 1 cup water, sugar, wine and anise seeds; boil until reduced in half. Strain syrup; add lime juice and zest. Pour over oranges. Cover and chill.
