1 small cabbage 1 medium onion (Vidalia if possible) 1/2 stick butter salt and pepper to taste 1/4 c. mayonnaise 1 (10.75 oz.) can cream of chicken soup Coarsely chop cabbage and place in 2 to 3-quart casserole dish. Chop onion; place on top of cabbage. Melt butter; pour over cabbage. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Mix soup and mayonnaise; spread over top of cabbage mixture. Sprinkle topping over mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until top is browned and inside is bubbly. Serves 6 to 8. Topping: 1 stick butter 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese 1 stack Ritz crackers, crushed Melt butter; mix with cheese and crackers. Sprinkle over casserole.
