3 c. cooked and drained green beans (fresh, frozen or canned) 2 Tbsp. margarine 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 c. milk 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard 1/2 c. liquid from drained green beans 1/8 tsp. black pepper 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. bread crumbs, tossed with 1 Tbsp. margarine Heat beans if using canned. Melt 2 tablespoons margarine; blend in flour. Add milk slowly and cook until thickened. Add cheese, mustard and reserved liquid; stir until cheese melts. Add salt and pepper. Place alternating layers of green beans and sauce in a greased casserole. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly hot.
