1/4 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 Tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3 eggs 1 c. dark syrup* 3/4 c. evaporated milk 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts 1 (9-inch) pie plate lined with pie crust *White Karo syrup can be substituted for dark syrup. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Add flour and salt; mix well. Beat eggs in one at a time. Stir in syrup, milk and nuts; mix well. Pour into crust lined pie plate. Bake 10 minutes; reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake until firm, about 50 minutes.
