Cake: 1 stick butter, softened 1 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (16 oz.) Hershey's chocolate syrup Frosting: 1 stick butter 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 c. sugar 1/3 c. evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 13 pan. Using mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture; continue beating. Add vanilla and chocolate syrup; mix well. Pour in pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. While cake is baking, prepare frosting. Frosting: Put butter, chocolate chips, sugar and evaporated milk in saucepan on medium heat; bring to boil, stirring often. Boil 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat; add vanilla and nuts.
