2 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 c. oil 1/4 c. orange juice 3 c. all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring 3 c. peeled finely chopped apples 1 c. coconut 1 c. chopped pecans 1/2 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. baking soda Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine first four ingredients. In separate bowl, mix flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Add this slowly to other mixture. Add vanilla. Fold apples, coconut and pecans into mixture. Pour into greased, floured tube pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Shortly before cake is done, melt butter; add remaining ingredients. Bring to rolling boil; boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Poke holes in hot cake when done and pour over cake in pan. Cool for 1 hour. Turn out of pan.
